Golden Triangle Awards 2008 -- Entry Details Eligibility Any agency, publication, company or organization in Western Pennsylvania can enter. Entries must have been produced between January 1, 2007, and March 31, 2008. External annual reports must have been released before April 15, 2008. All entries must focus on organizational communication. Commercial publications are not accepted, but there is a category for writing for these publications, such as news and feature articles. Electronic communications, such as non-commercial websites, are welcome. You can submit as many entries as you want, but each requires its own fee. Deadlines and Fees The final deadline to submit all entries is 5 p.m. on June 13, 2008. Early Bird entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. on May 30, 2007. They receive a 20% discount on entry fees: IABC member ($60 per entry) or nonmember ($85 per entry). All entries submitted between June 1 and June 13 must pay full fees: IABC member ($85 per entry) or nonmember ($110 per entry). Entry fees are nonrefundable. You may use the member rate by joining IABC at time of entry submission. Entry Details Submit two copies each of your entry form, work plan summary and work sample(s). Each entry should be in its own self-contained package, such as a folder or three-ring or plastic-rib binder. Do not submit original or irreplaceable materials. We cannot guarantee their safe return. IABC/Pittsburgh presents its spring workshop and luncheon presentation, “Strategic Crisis Communications: Managing the Media When Things Go Wrong” with internationally acclaimed media relations expert Eric Bergman.

This interactive workshop will provide communicators with practical hands-on approaches to managing issues, emergencies and crises. By the end of the session, communicators will have a number of tools and techniques they can apply to their organizations as a means of managing issues, preparing for emergencies, and handling crises.
The workshop will be followed by a luncheon presentation, “Media Relations: The Fallacy of Staying on Message” in which Bergman makes the case that the simplistic concept of staying on message is an outdated paradigm in an information driven world. This session examines how PR practitioners can adopt a new paradigm that enhances transparency, supports ethics, and treats publics and stakeholders with the respect they deserve.
