Overcoming Procrastination and Perfectionism for a More Productive 2021

Do you type an email, then delete it and rewrite it again after scrutinizing and analyzing it? Does the thought of starting a new project paralyze you so much that you just keep procrastinating until you are right up against a deadline?

Hillary Rettig, author of "The 7 Secrets of the Prolific" and "Forthcoming Productivity is Power," will help you achieve a more productive 2021. The core of her work is the idea that procrastination, blocks, and other forms of underproductivity are symptoms of disempowerment. Her work is devoted to helping people locate and remediate the disempowering forces in their work and life so that they can reclaim their joyful productivity.

She will teach us solutions to both procrastination and perfectionism that are uniquely targeted and effective.

A Recap of Past IABC/Pittsburgh Events

How to Focus in a Distracted World

In an increasingly distracting world, sometimes it's hard to focus on the tasks in front of us. During this event, we discussed the "Productivity Paradox" and how we can power through in times when it feels like our technology is conspiring against our best and most focused work. During the event, co-founder of CAVEDAY, Jeremy Redleaf, taught us research-backed techniques to super-charge our days and find more focus. He also led a brief focus session in "the cave" to work our productivity and focus muscles. We then discussed how we can implement deep focus sessions into our own schedules and our teams' work schedules.

CAVEDAY helps knowledge workers do better work in less time with fewer distractions. CAVEDAY has facilitated more than 50,000 hours of deep work around the globe and helps teams at companies like Facebook, DDB, Spotify, Fjord, The Muse, and Lyft to become 2-3x more productive! If you missed the event and want to try "the cave" out for yourself, take advantage of this 1-month unlimited remote membership ($39.99 value!).
